PART-TIME PROFESSIONAL SCIENCE TUTOR

Felician University is presently seeking an experienced professional to serve as part-time Science Tutor in the Center for Academic Success and Effectiveness. The Tutor facilitates student learning by helping to clarify specific course content and promoting/modeling the use of appropriate study strategies. He/she is responsible for the development and integration of effective study and learning strategies to maximize student potential for independent learning and academic progress. The Tutor also provides individual and small group tutoring sessions for General Biology, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, and Anatomy and Physiology.

BS in Science disciple required; Master’s degree preferred

Qualifications

Relevant work experience that demonstrates the ability to relate to and engage with students as a tutor; demonstrated subject knowledge and instructional ability to execute individual and small group tutoring sessions for general Biology, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, and Anatomy and Physiology; p roven ability to work well with a diverse student population; c reative thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills; a collaborative spirit; w illingness and ability to support and promote the Felician Franciscan mission and values.
