We are seeking a high-caliber patent agent with a strong electrical and/or computer engineering background for an excellent law firm opportunity. This is a well-established, highly respected, and steadily growing practice. The practice leaders within this firm have impressive backgrounds and have continuously succeeded in attracting top clients and top talent.
The majority of your responsibilities will pertain to patent drafting and prosecution for a diverse roster high-tech clients, both domestic and foreign. There will also be the opportunity to support attorneys and clients in other related areas (e.g., patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement opinions; international patent portfolio strategy management; due diligence), subject the ongoing needs of this expanding practice.
Here, you will see a diverse array of electrical and computer engineering applications (industrial and consumer electronics, biomedical devices and instrumentation, power and control systems, RF, WiFi, mobile communications, IEEE standards, enterprise applications, network security, network protocols, etc.). Your specific exposure will be dependent upon your interests, technical expertise, and experience.
Patent Agent Requirements
Must have at least 3 years of full time claim drafting and patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm.
Minimum BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics; an M.S. or Ph.D. would be preferred.
All fees are paid by client firms and companies. As a consequence of our reputation for having integrity and providing results, we often work on exclusive assignments that are not advertised.
Another important distinction is that we work directly with the decision makers (i.e. partners, managing counsels, etc.) that make the determinations regarding who will be interviewed, who will be extended an offer, etc.
