Patient Access Analyst

Job Summary

Provides coordination, critical thinking, and accountability for the daily execution of template management within the department. Responsible and accountable for access reporting and monitoring of process improvement activities within the clinics. Proactively identifies patient access issues, and provides support to clinic leadership to develop remediation plans. This role uncovers insights into the patient experience (related to access), staff scheduling, productivity and overall access performance to help identify trends and issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes relevant clinical, scheduling, payroll, revenue cycle, and financial information and metrics related to access, staff scheduling center and contact center performance.
  • Communicates and coordinates between the Access department, Clinics, and Revenue Cycle departments to support the implementation of operational changes and new initiatives that will improve the patient experience and achieve goals.
  • Identify and report errors, near misses, and employee, patient and customer safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Communicate identified risks to supervisor in order to minimize risk when possible.
  • Develops, nurtures, and maintains strong business relationships with leadership and health center clinicians and staff.
  • Serves as a resource to explain data, answer questions, and further research as required.
  • Proactively manages provider templates to ensure adherence to template management policies and strategy to reduce patient appointment wait time, and improve patient access.
  • Comply with Owensboro Health Code of Conduct and maintain the highest level of professional and ethical standards and to act in compliance with both the letter and spirit of all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Healthcare Administration required upon hire OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in healthcare related field required upon hire
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience required
  • No licensure/certification/registration required

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office programs and tools, especially Excel
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and articulate complex subject matter
