Responsibilities / Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced payroll leader to join our centralized finance team and serve as our US Payroll Manager, managing the processing of semi-monthly payroll for 500+ employees in nearly all 50 states (both exempt and non-exempt). The Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time, and ensuring the accuracy of all relevant payroll taxes, wages, benefits, deductions and calculations.The role will also work with HR and other Finance team member to ensure data integrity. This role will manage one other payroll team member.

We are seeking an experienced payroll leader to join our centralized finance team and serve as our US Payroll Manager, managing the processing of semi-monthly payroll for 500+ employees in nearly all 50 states (both exempt and non-exempt). The Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time, and ensuring the accuracy of all relevant payroll taxes, wages, benefits, deductions and calculations.The role will also work with HR and other Finance team member to ensure data integrity. This role will manage one other payroll team member.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on relevant trends in employment compliance and regulations, as well as payroll and HRIS technologies.
- Assist in preparation of quarterly and year-end tax filings
- Serve as a point of contact regarding payroll processes and policies, and resolving payroll related inquiries
- Review Tax Reports from vendor, and prepare periodic reports for government agencies, tax authorities, insurance industry associations, and business units
- Liaise with Finance to establish GL feeds from payroll system to accurately record expenses related to payroll, taxes and benefits
- Provide payroll system reports to support payroll related expense analysis
- Support Finance with balance sheet account reconciliations for payroll related line items
- Research and respond to audit requests and tax agency notices
- Process wage garnishments and liens in accordance with federal and state laws
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- 7-10 years progressive payroll experience in a leadership role
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
- Proficient in payroll processing and HR technology, preferably Paylocity
- Flexible, deadline oriented, and ability to work as part of a multifunctional team.
- Excellent ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing and taking initiative
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Shows a strong learning mindset, intellectual agility, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
