Our partners at Seattle Foundation are seeking a dedicated People & Culture Manager who will supervise the daily functions of human resources and people operations. This individual will have the responsibility for overseeing the implementation of People & Culture initiatives in a timely, accurate, inclusive, and customer-service oriented manner. Additionally, they will play a crucial role in improving HR operations, enhancing the employee experience, and shaping the organizational culture.

Position Overview:

This role reports to the Managing Director of People & Culture and is responsible for advancing the employee experience, improving HR operations, and shaping the organizational culture of SeaFdn. This role will work closely virtually and in-person with the People & Culture team, staff, leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate strategies and programs that help us achieve our strategic plan goals while championing DEI, employee well-being and satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a generalist with a strong applied understanding of human resources operations and best practices, a passion for creating a positive work environment, and is at their core, a values-led leader. They have a strong attention to detail, ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders, take great pride in their work, and are eager to have a positive impact. It is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, collaborative human resources or people operations professional who wants to lead, grow and apply a broad skill set working across all people operations functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

People & Culture

  • Partner with team members to co-create, implement and refine people & culture strategy and priorities for the organization, including: assessing needs, gathering feedback, building programs and communications, monitoring workplans, and evaluating progress of short and long-term goals.
  • Model and nurture a culture of learning, curiosity, joy and wellness that helps us succeed in our vision and deepen our connection across the organization and with our external stakeholders
  • Support and help drive our DEI commitments in partnership with the DEI Council, Affinity groups learning activities, and all cross-functional partners
  • In collaboration with the People & Culture team, lead and align onboarding, engagement, performance management and talent development operations to foster a sense of belonging, purpose and commitment to the organization while driving impact
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and recruiting vendors to oversee a thoughtful, consistent and inclusive end-to-end talent acquisition process
  • Collaborate with the Learning team to design, deliver and evaluate professional development strategy and activities for staff
  • Plan, source and/or deliver training and coaching to support leaders in people management areas such as manager responsibilities, interviewing and performance conversation best practices, minimizing biases, respectful workplace culture, etc


Human Resources

  • Own the day-to-day implementation and efficacy of HR processes
  • Review and partner with leadership to update and implement organizational policies, procedures, practices and operations related to People & Culture
  • Maintain compliance with current and emerging legislation, and develop communication strategies to implement and evaluate equitable HR policies and procedures
  • Provide coaching, consultation, conflict resolution and employee relations support and documentation in a timely and confidential manner
  • Manage, implement and evaluate compensation, wellness and benefits initiatives that drive retention and holistically support a culture of wellbeing and work-life balance


Administrative Management & Operations

  • Collect, analyze and report on human resources and people data (total rewards/benefits, talent acquisition, talent development, engagement, DEI) to measure progress and areas for improvement
  • Work heavily in Paycom, SeaFdn's HRIS system, ensuring data hygiene and optimization of the system and reporting to meet our strategic goals
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture, IT and Operations team members to optimize, align and systematize team operations
  • Provide backup to Office Manager and Payroll & Benefits Administrator


Requirements

  • 5+ years working in the human resources, people operations, talent development, benefits, or similar spaces
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, organizational development, or a related field, or equivalent experience. HR certification desired but not required
  • Applied understanding of HR best practices and principles and demonstrated experience overseeing HR programs and operations
  • Demonstrated commitment to DEI principles and approaches
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information and employee relations issues with high discretion
  • Ability to adapt to changing business and stakeholder needs, proactively problem-solving and initiating solutions
  • Consistent, high attention to detail, with an ability to also see the big picture
  • Proficiency in using HR systems, software and tools. Strong computer skills, including experience with database management and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Curious and collaborative attitude with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively among diverse stakeholders
  • A joyful, high integrity and customer-service oriented approach

Benefits

  • Hiring Range - $90,000-$100,000 Annually; Full Range - $76,400 - $122,240
  • 100% Paid by employer: medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, LTD. 403(b)
  • Retirement matched at 5%; increasing to 10% over time, 100% immediate vesting.
  • PTO: 3 weeks' vacation, 2 weeks sick, 4 wellness days, 15 holidays, 2 weeks off paid (independent of PTO during Fourth of July and Thanksgiving)

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

The work is performed in an office setting, or a hybrid office/remote combination. This position will require a weekly in-office presence. All positions require the capability of working at a PC for extended periods. Team efforts with event support may require periods of physical activity involving standing, walking, and moderate lifting.
