AustralianSuper, the largest pension fund in Australia and listed as a top 20 largest pension fund globally, are recruiting a new role, People Experience Partner, US, in our Colleagues and Culture team based in New York. The People Experience Partner, US primarily provides C&C support to AustralianSuper's New York office in support of the Fund and our International growth plans, supporting our multi location international business.

  • This role is a rare opportunity to help build our investment & enterprise capability in both Public and Private markets in New York, partnering with stakeholders at all levels.

Purpose:

Acting as a strategic business partner to the Fund's senior leaders by embedding people and culture strategies into the business and by providing professional, expert guidance and support with the objective of building the culture and capability of the organisation in our pursuit of delivering the best financial outcomes for our 3.4m members.

Working closely with the People Experience leader to continue to build out the New York office in line with the International Offices Program through being recognised as a trusted advisor and coach to senior business leaders in New York.

In partnership with Colleagues & Culture Team, International you will be accountable for:

  • Working with the People Experience leader US, develop and deliver a C&C plan for the New York office, which is aligned to the International Offices Program, the Fund's business strategy and the enterprise-wide Colleague & Culture strategy.
  • Work closely with the Reward Lead to manage and administer the US Benefits and leave of absences.
  • Partner with the Learning and Development team to ensure New York colleagues learning and development needs are met.
  • Drive staff performance and engagement by delivering and embedding C&C initiatives.
  • Contribute to achieving a unified and values driven culture in New York and across the broader fund.
  • Provide C&C advice, support, and solutions to people leaders on a wide range of strategic and operational people issues.
  • Translate business strategy into workforce capabilities and associated role development pipelines.
  • Ensure the organisational structure of the International offices evolves to meet the requirements of the business and Fund as it grows rapidly.
  • Apply a future focus to the resourcing and development of people to deliver on the Fund's long-term strategy.

The candidate profile we'd like to apply - noting we don't expect that all candidates will fulfill all these experiences.

Desired:

  • Strong experience as a Human Resources Business Partner at a senior level, ideally with exposure to US financial services / investment management.
  • Must have extensive and in-depth knowledge of New York compliance, in addition to NY state & federal labour laws.
  • Commercial perspective.
  • Exceptional relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Open and responsive to change.
  • Experience working in a role with cross-border reach.
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders.
  • High level of technical HR capability.

Pay transparency notice


The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $170,000 (this is based on full-time hours, located in New York City). The base pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience and refers to the amount AustralianSuper is willing to pay at the time of posting.
