Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Performance Improvement Specialist to join our team in Portland, OR. The Performance Improvement Specialist helps to ensure that care is safe, timely, effective, equitable, efficient and patient-centered. The position supports the PI/Risk Management department, hospital staff, leadership, and medical staff by identifying and facilitating process improvement and safety opportunities. In this position, you'll have the opportunity to facilitate implementation of evidence-based practices by performing data extraction and analysis and PI methodologies. You'll actively lead and participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of quality and safety programs. In addition, you'll facilitate improvement of outcomes relevant to environment of care and patient safety, patient satisfaction, and clinical quality.
Collects, enters, and analyzes quality, safety, and patient experience data
Generates reports, maintains dashboards, and makes recommendations for future improvement based on analysis
Collaborates with teams and facilitates performance improvement activities around quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and patient experience using proven tools, techniques and methodologies
Manages various quality and performance databases (e.g. Press Ganey [PG Fusion and High Reliability Platform], PolicyTech, etc.), including providing training for staff and managers
Supports coordination of hospital-wide licensing and accreditation efforts including staff education, continuous survey readiness, and regulatory reporting
Represents the Performance Improvement department in administrative and/or medical staff committees, as assigned
Assists with administrative duties such as taking meeting minutes
May perform additional duties as assigned

Bachelor in business or related field
