Position: Performance/Simulation Engineer

Location: Peoria, IL

Summary

  • Seeking candidates with expertise in 3D CFD (STAR, CMM+, ANSYS Fluent) and 1D Fluid Dynamics (Amesim, GT-suite) for simulation engineering role.

Job Description: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in 1D simulation techniques.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in commercial 3D CFD software such as STAR CCM+ or ANSYS Fluent. Familiarity with 1D fluid dynamics and thermal software like Amesim or GT-suite is preferred.
  • (Desired) Knowledge of drivetrain and hydraulic components, including clutches, brakes, gears, pumps, valves, transmission lube, and actuation systems, is advantageous. Experience with solid modeling software such as Creo is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, lead engineers, simulation engineers, and software suppliers. Demonstrated tenacity in problem-solving and aptitude for eliciting key analysis goals through insightful questioning. Strong communication skills for conveying results to clients.

  • 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software like STAR, CMM+, ANSYS Fluent, as well as Amesim or GT-suite for 1D Fluid Dynamics.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Candidates should hold an MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering and possess 5+ years of relevant experience in 3D CFD (thesis work during Ph.D. may count towards experience). Previous experience conducting fluid dynamic and thermal simulations in academic or industrial settings is necessary.
