This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced leader to oversee all aspects of the pharmacy department, ensuring optimal patient care and efficient operations.
About The Opportunity
As the Pharmacy Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the pharmacy department. You will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated pharmacists and technicians, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and implementing strategies to optimize medication management and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and leadership for the entire pharmacy department.
Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, medication accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory management, and budgeting.
Recruit, hire, train, and mentor pharmacy staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
Lead medication use reviews and ensure optimal medication therapy for patients.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and regulations in pharmacy practice.
Analyze performance metrics and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Manage pharmacy budget and resources effectively.
Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
Active and unrestricted license by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in hospital-based clinical pharmacy.
Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a pharmacy setting.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently.
Commitment to high-quality patient care and medication safety.
Prior experience in budgeting and resource management preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (required, can be completed before starting position).
