DD Traders is the parent company of DEMDACO, a Kansas City wholesale gift company, specializing in gifts, tabletop and home decor.

This is not a remote career opportunity. This is based in DEMDACO's Corporate Office Headquarters in the Kansas City suburb of Leawood, KS.

Briefly describe the position responsibilities: The Photographer is responsible for capturing DEMDACO product for use within B2B Catalogs, B2C Catalogs, signage, marketing materials, digital, social and marketplace needs. This role is responsible for capturing still and motion imagery, editing still and motion work, producing content for digital, social and marketplace platforms while working closely with internal and external partners to meet deadlines, adhere to budgetary needs. They must be able to photograph in studio and location settings. Good understanding of lighting requirements needed for each project, whether still or motion is a must. The photographer must also style various products, make product adjustments on set, and have a decent knowledge for composition.

  • The Photographer must be adept at the following
    • Product and Lifestyle photography
    • Experience in capturing and editing of video
    • Photography best practices and brand standards.
    • Location and Studio lighting, natural light, strobe, and continuous light sources.
    • Adobe or Capture One Workflow
    • Flexible and efficient.
    • Understanding of budgets.
    • A self-starter with the ability to lead projects
    • This position requires the ability to effectively collaborate with other members of the organization to ensure they meet mutual identified goals. Collaboration across the organization is key.
    • Work with other departments, specifically Product Development teams, Digital Marketing teams, Creative Services and Retail/ Wholesale organizations to adhere to a defined go to market (GTM) process to ensure seamless transitions of information and deliverables.

  • Photography and video projects will be used for the following:
    • Catalogs and Magazines (B2B & B2C)
    • E-commerce and Marketplace sites (Internally & Externally)
    • Social Media (Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook etc.)
    • Sell sheets
    • Sales Force Literature
    • Retail signage
    • Product packaging
    • Develop creative assets and content that can be leveraged for the wholesale and retail organization.

    Required Experience

    Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

    • Training in photography either through degree program or professional equivalent (2+ minimum) within a similar industry.
    • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple high priority projects and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment
    • Proficient in an Adobe (Lightroom, Bridge, Photoshop, Premier etc.) or Capture One workflow
    • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
    • Understanding of digital asset management, collaboration tools, web file requirements.
    • Requires a hard-working self-starter desiring a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
    • Able to follow directions and effectively execute directives

    Work Related Demands

    • Must be able to lift 50lbs. when going on location or working within the studio.
    • When on location, there will be additional vehicle rental needs. Candidate must have current, active Drivers License.
    • Moderate travel to trade shows and showrooms for promotion, research or merchandising support and display
