The Division of GASTROENTEROLOGY AT STONY BROOK MEDICINE is recruiting a full-time Physician Scientist or Ph.D. reporting directly to the Chief of Gastroenterology.

To qualify for an appointment as Associate Professor or Professor, the candidate must meet the School of Medicine's criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure located at: School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure.

Qualifications

PHYSICIAN SCIENTIST:

Required Qualifications: MD, DO, MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent). Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Board Certified/Eligible in Gastroenterology. Experience in clinical care and clinical, translational or basic research in the field of Gastroenterology. Will be responsible for research, patient care and teaching.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated publication and active funding track record in clinical, translational, and/or basic research is preferred. The ideal candidate will have exhibited a strong commitment to advancing scientific knowledge of the field of Gastroenterology, as well as demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical, educational, and academic excellence.

Scientist

Required Qualifications: PhD, MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent). Experience in translational or basic research in the field of Gastroenterology.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated publication and active funding track record in translational, and/or basic research is preferred. The ideal candidate will have exhibited a strong commitment to advancing scientific knowledge of the field of Gastroenterology, as well as demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence.
