Pianist/Organist Wanted

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church is seeking a skilled keyboard artist to accompany one of our choirs in partnership with its Music Director, cantors and psalmists. The qualified candidate will be able to play the many styles of Church's music with fluency from printed scores in a variety of formats. This is a part=time position, but may grow in scope over time. Bachelor's degree in music is preferred; applicants with other equivalent experience many also be considered.

The ideal candidate should be stylistically versatile, able to make music from all printed forms of music and capable of playing with accuracy from printed scores. Sight reading capabilities are an important component. Must be able to receive, accept and respond appropriately to direction from the Director or Leader with regard to tempo, dynamics and other interpretive aspects of music being rendered. Must understand or be able to rapidly assimilate the role of music in Catholic liturgy in its cyclical variations. Candidates with existing knowledge of Catholic liturgy and/or liturgical music will be given enhanced consideration.
