Job Summary: TACO Metals, a proud member of the Patrick Industries family, is seeking a Plant Controller to join our growing team in Sparta, TN. As an integral part of our Finance/Accounting Department, the Plant Controller will oversee, lead, and coordinate accounting, financial reporting, financial management, and budgeting efforts to support our facility's expanding operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervise the Accounting Staff
Oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) function to ensure vendor invoices are processed and paid within terms
Oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) function to ensure customers pay within terms
Conduct balance sheet and bank reconciliations
Adhere to Corporate’s close schedule
Ensure proper inventory valuation by running PPV, job variance, and overhead absorption reports
Prepare monthly financial reports
Report variances from the budget and address issues with management and Corporate
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Track and manage capital expenditures
Collaborate with HR, Purchasing, Sales, and other business and operational disciplines
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
5+ years of Accounting/Finance experience
Prior experience in manufacturing and cost accounting is highly desired
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working effectively with a diverse range of personnel from hourly employees to senior management
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently with minimal oversight
Strong accountability and follow-through skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
High level of personal integrity, including confidence, honesty, and respect
