Job Overview:

They are looking for a skilled and motivated Plant Manager to join their team. This role involves overseeing the daily operations and management of the facility, ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.


Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee the entire asphalt production process, ensuring that the plant operates efficiently and meets production targets.
  • Monitor and manage the plant’s performance, including the quality of the asphalt produced, and implement process improvements as necessary.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure that raw materials are sourced and available for production.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure the plant adheres to all safety regulations and protocols, including OSHA standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, and implement corrective actions to address any identified risks.
  • Ensure environmental compliance, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage a team of plant operators, maintenance staff, and other personnel. This includes hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and ensure adherence to operational standards.

Budget and Cost Control:

  • Develop and manage the plant’s budget, including operational costs, labor, and capital expenditures.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Work with the maintenance team to develop preventive maintenance schedules and ensure they are followed.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure that the asphalt produced meets all quality specifications and standards.
  • Implement quality control measures, including testing procedures, to monitor the consistency and quality of the asphalt.

Customer Relations:

  • Coordinate with the sales and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Address any customer concerns or complaints related to product quality or delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience: Several years of experience in plant operations, particularly in the asphalt or construction materials industry. Experience in a management or supervisory role is essential.
  • Certifications: Certifications related to plant operations, safety, or environmental management (e.g., OSHA certification) are advantageous.

Skills:

  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of asphalt production processes, plant equipment, and maintenance procedures.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address operational issues quickly and effectively.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, management, and customers.
