Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking a Plant Manager to join our team. The Plant Manager reports to the VP of Operations. The primary duties of the Plant Manager are to ensure the fabrication of products is achieved safely, efficiently and meets the Company’s quality standards. This involves developing and enforcing policies and procedures for production methods, quality and safety.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Plant Manager Look Like?

  • Plan, organize and direct the production operations to ensure product standards will exceed our customer’s expectations.
  • Initiate plans and processes which minimize production costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities and materials and assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules.
  • Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
  • Uphold standards of maximum safety for all production personnel.
  • Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes. Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies.
  • Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements; maintain clean plant free of safety or health concerns.
  • Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance.
  • Assist with hiring of production personnel.
  • Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees’ positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action.

Required Education And Experience

  • The following education, experience and knowledge are preferred for this position:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; in addition six or more years of experience in a high production environment with four years of managerial experience. Experience in oil and gas industry preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential.
  • Familiar with use of MS Office® software.

Work Schedule

The Plant Manager will work Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:30 PM. Spitzer currently runs two shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekend work as needed. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
