The Barrax Podcast – Producer Position Overview
Introduction:
The Barrax Podcast provides opportunities to businesses and other individuals to speak about their life’s work and highlight their experiences and journeys. This position is for an ambitious professional looking to grow their production career in a well-connected, fast-paced, and adaptable environment.
Pay:
This position is unpaid, but the Producer will gain abundant compensation in the form of network expansion, hands-on experience, portfolio development, and the opportunity to receive a percentage of podcast profits over time.

Responsibilities:
- Podcast Production: The Producer is responsible for ensuring that all content is professionally recorded, edited, produced, and published.
- Content Distribution: All podcast episodes will need to be distributed across a variety of media platforms including YouTube (primary), Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.
- Podcast Planning: The Producer will be responsible for communicating with guests and scheduling interview times.
- Writing and Research: The Producer may be asked to prepare briefing memorandums on guests and monologues for non-guest content.
- Advertising and Social Media: The Producer will need to make regular posts advertising The Barrax Podcast’s Instagram, Youtube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts .
- Website and Search Engine Optimization (SEO): The Producer will need to manage our website, which is where followers will access podcast content and learn more about guests.
- Leadership: Various Assistants may be appointed to help the Producer with any of the above tasks, on request.
Benefits:
- Creative License: The Producer will have artistic authority over audio and video recording practices, editing software, social media management, advertisements, script/question writing, theme music, branding, etc.
- Access to Professional Recording Equipment: Shure SM57 Microphones, Sony A6000 Cameras, Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro (Mac Studio), Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface
- Budget: Within reason, the producer may request new equipment/marketing materials with a budget of $5,000.
- An Extensive Portfolio: The Barrax Podcast will produce at minimum two interviews per week, so the Producer can expect a plethora of podcast episodes to display in their portfolio.
- Extensive Network: The Producer will inevitably be in contact with influential individuals with whom they can connect and collaborate with in the future.
Time Commitment:
The Producer will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. The majority of time working will be spent on recording, creating, editing, marketing, producing, and publishing podcast content.
