The Population Health Analyst will support analyses of clinical and operations-related questions supporting the mission of the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center. The individual will collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to generate data sets, conduct data analyses, prepare and present reports. The Population Health Analyst reports to the Lead Data Analyst and will work collaboratively with other members of the division as well as with clinical, operational, and administrative staff, and, as needed, with external organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manipulate secondary data sets from clinical data warehouse, registries, claims, and other health care data
  • Assist internal and external staff with data requests addressing priority questions; collaborate with staff to develop and refine project specifications and scope
  • Perform basic data cleaning and data wrangling to prepare data for analysis
  • Conduct statistical analyses as needed to adjust for confounding and communicate uncertainty associated with findings
  • Contextualize conclusions through academic and grey literature review; provide data driven recommendations in collaboration with relevant staff
  • Support translation of analysis into content for briefing documents, presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, and other materials
  • Develop dashboards using Power BI or Excel to support clinical and business decision making
  • Provide administrative support to Population Health Department as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience in conducting public health, clinical informatics or other health-related data analysis projects OR Master's degree in public health, statistics, biomedical informatics, epidemiology, or similar field
  • Experience cleaning, wrangling, and analyzing large datasets (n>1000) Proficient in quantitative reasoning and ability to solve logic-based problems
  • Strong written and oral communication competency; ability to contextualize data within larger body of population health literature and translate complex findings into digestible insights
  • Proven track record of project management skills; demonstrated ability to develop and manage multiple, diverse projects at once, strategize timelines, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel, R, and SQL

Preferred

  • Experience extracting, creating, and working with big data from large, complex clinical/health data warehouses as well as scheduling and financial databases
  • Demonstrated experiencing conducting population health analysis or research
  • Proven ability communicating population health findings to clinical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of EPIC or Athena Practice (previously Centricity) EMR systems
  • Expertise in dashboard development using programs such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Familiarity with Federally Qualified Community Health Center care model
  • Proficiency in additional statistical programming software such as Python, SAS, SPSS, or STATA

  • Salary: $65,000.00 - 75,000.00 per year
