General Responsibilities

GSG Wealth Management is a comprehensive financial planning firm seeking a Portfolio Manager and Financial Analyst. In this role, the professional will implement our duty of care to clients by providing expertise in complex investment/planning and implementing our portfolio management strategies and processes. Along with 14 other members of the GSG team, this associate will ensure the continuation of an efficient, effective, and organized office. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:


Portfolio Management Responsibilities

  • Manage client assets and portfolios as directed by Investment Committee and their IPS
  • Monitor daily investment allocations
  • Trade client accounts to raise or invest cash, rebalance, and perform tax loss harvesting
  • Monitor and create systems for clients taking income from their portfolios
  • Document, systemize, and implement transition plans for necessary clients
  • Send out Capital Calls on behalf of clients who are Accredited Investors and Qualified Purchasers
  • Summarize and relay updates on current positions to advisors

Research and Analysis Responsibilities

  • Perform research calls for new Separately Managed Account and Alternative Investment opportunities
  • Research complex investment strategies applicable to individual clients situations
  • Based on research, make recommendations on advisory services, investment products, and suitability to Investment Committee
  • Create financial plans through PX (NM’s proprietary planning software)
  • Understand and be able to demonstrate complex financial planning solutions in PX

Team Responsibilities

  • Understand and support the firm’s vision, mission and strategy
  • Complete strategic initiatives and projects as assigned by GSG Partners and/or Practice Manager


Qualifications and Expectations

  • Preferred Education:
  • • • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field and/or appropriate designations in financial industry
  • • • Series 7 and 63 registrations
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in handling detailed work
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
