Dotdash Meredith is seeking a Post Production Producer to join its video team on a full-time freelance basis. You will ensure the highest quality of content through post production, optimizing edits for various platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube for brands including InStyle, Travel + Leisure, Health, Byrdie, and Parents.

Assignment Details

37.5 hours per week

Start date: July 31, 2024

End date (with potential for extension): September 30, 2024

Hourly Rate: $45.00

Location: New York DDM Office

Dotdash Meredith is seeking a Post Production Producer to join its video team on a full-time freelance basis. The Post Production Producer will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of all content through post production, optimizing edits for various platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube for a variety of brands including InStyle, Travel + Leisure, Health, Byrdie, and Parents. As a Post Production Producer, you’ll be a resourceful go-getter and creative problem-solver with experience in fast-paced, large digital media environments. Your key responsibilities will include ensuring all content meets high standards for color accuracy, sound quality, and overall visual and auditory appeal. You will adapt and optimize edits to suit various platforms, making sure each piece of content is engaging and shareable. Meeting deadlines consistently and ensuring all post-production schedules are adhered to will be crucial, as will maintaining timely and effective communication with different departments, including asset management, brand leads, and other stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with a keen eye for color, an ear for sound, and a gut instinct for optimizing social videos. Your role will involve asset wrangling, project organization, overseeing a high volume of edits, and providing creative solutions to modernize repurposed footage. Stellar attention to detail and excellent writing skills are essential, and proficiency in Google Sheets and Airtable is a big plus.

Assignment Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with producers, video editors, social editors, and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects at once for multiple brands.
  • Review and provide feedback on edits, ensuring they align with the creative vision and brand guidelines, and hit aggressive deliverable targets.
  • Manage asset organization, archiving, and file delivery processes.
  • Ensure all content meets high standards for color accuracy, sound quality, and overall visual and auditory appeal.
  • Adapt and optimize edits to suit various platforms, making sure each piece of content is engaging and shareable.
  • Maintain timely and effective communication with different departments, including asset management, brand leads, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide creative solutions to modernize repurposed footage.
  • Meet deadlines consistently and ensure all post-production schedules are adhered to.
  • Anticipate and meet the changing needs of a fast-paced production environment with multiple active projects in the pipeline.

Skills/Experience

  • Creative thinker with 3+ years of video post production experience.
  • Superb organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects at a time.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator; visual storytelling skills.
  • Strong familiarity with digital media and web video; passion for digital content.
  • Thorough and detail oriented while managing multiple projects at once under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient with Google Suite, Adobe Suite, Slack, Frame.io, and Airtable.
