We are looking for a Video Editor / Post Production Supervisor.

This role will act as primary liaison for Post Production needs for our client, GDS. They work on site at the team’s post production facility, and are responsible for creating best practices for external agencies, ensuring that post-production infrastructure is up to date, and periodically performing editing duties on GDS projects when required. With deep experience in video editing, they are responsible for the assembly of video and audio content in support of the client’s key goals and initiatives. When needed, they work tightly with Producers to hone raw material into a polished final product, formatted to various delivery specifications.

For larger events or projects that require significant coordination across multiple editors, they serve in a leadership role to ensure that all edits are delivered according to the appropriate specs and deadlines.

This is a full-time onsite position, 40/hr a week, located in Sunnyvale CA. The Post Production Supervisor must be able to regularly go into the office 3 days per week, and up to 5 days per week during busy event seasons.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with video team lead to establish post-production standards that can be shared out and tracked with our suppliers
  • Help identify post-production suppliers for various project types
  • Offer critical qualitative assessments of work performed by our suppliers
  • Partner with central Ops team to identify opportunities of costs savings within the post-production department
  • While working on digital events or multi-vendor efforts, create and implement systems to ensure clear communication, unity of overall quality and adherence to agreed-upon deadlines

Video Editing

  • Creatively assemble footage either from scripted or unscripted segments
  • Contribute creative ideas and solutions
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing to the development of innovative and visually captivating video concepts
  • Apply color correction and light sound design to finished cuts
  • Bring new ideas to projects to help enhance the finished project
  • Be able to create and modify simple graphics in After Effects
  • Occasionally create thumbnails for YouTube videos you work on using Photoshop templates
  • Initiate communication with the team regarding problems with footage or projects, and the ability to problem solve around them
  • Communicate if graphics do not seem to be adhering to client standards
  • Complete edits by their deadlines and communicate with project leads along the way
  • Organize editing projects in a logical, standardized manner such that handoffs and collaboration are smoothly executed
  • Participate in team discussions and share learnings and feedback

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Responsive and clear communication in both written and verbal form
  • Friendly and respectful demeanor with team members and stakeholders
  • Willingness to problem-solve and offer creative solutions
  • Detail-oriented approach to project intake
  • Time management skills
  • 6+ years of experience in Post Production
  • Experience and working knowledge of adjacent fields e.g., animation, motion graphics, audio for post, color grading, etc
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Broadcasting, or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic understanding of the Google App Suite
  • Basic understanding of Apple computers and troubleshooting on them
  • Familiar with post review tools like Frame.IO and DAM/MAM tools like Iconik to the extent they can partner with video engineering team on process / workflow improvements

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000
