Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
10+ years of experience in power generation maintenance, troubleshooting, design, etc.
Experience in the utility industry
Experience with gas & steam turbines, pumps, motors, valves, thermodynamics, welding, pressure vessles, heat transfer, cooling towers, fans, etc.
Knowledge of all welding codes (ASME codes), what material is needed, corrosion, etc.
Experience making sure all initiatives and outages are on time, within budget and scope
RCA or MOC procedure knowledge

Day to Day: An employer in the Orlando, FL market is looking for a Power Generation Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for managing project oversight, outages, efficiency improvement projects for several power generation facilities thorughout Florida. This person will assist with assessment of equipment failures. This person will perform walkdowns, inspections, take teams through safety briefings, make sure projects are on time, within scope and within budget. You will also determine if projects need to be contracted out and be responsible for actually contracting out the work. This person will be required to analyze data, determine the root cause of issues, perform the troubleshooting, as well as write procedures for technicians to follow in the field, and design at times if something isn’t working. This person will be supporting gas and steam turbines, pumps, valves, motors, etc.
