JOB SUMMARY:
Pre-stage medical equipment at our Long Beach Office which adds value to our customers.
Majority of the prestage job is related to Mobile X-ray DR systems but will involve other
products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Pre-stage of the ordered DR package into the appropriate Mobile Evolution product line.
This can include the following:
Mechanical assembly of electrical components as instructed in the assembly manuals
Operation of lift to position the mobile unit to a comfortable working height.
Loading software onto the Acquisition PC via thumb drives or a server via internet
connectivity
As required, activate licenses
Calibrate the system as instructed in the installation manuals
Verify the operation of the X-ray system by making images on phantoms and reviewing
the image for any anomalies using ALARA procedures.
Assist the Warehouse with uncrating and crating product as needed
Logging serial numbers and s/w revision data into central database server
Work closely with the operation’s department on the shipping schedule for products
related to pre-stage
Assist with validating new software as needed
Work with the AI staff on controlling the software revision levels that are being shipped
Recommend workflow improvement actions, such as lighting, flooring, benches, ect., for
the Pre-Stage area
Provide phone, on-site technical support, and direct service support to the dealers,
direct service personnel, and customers as required.
Provide support for Shimadzu trade shows (RSNA, ACC, AHRA, etc) and other North
American meetings as needed
Provide proper reporting of service activities to management
Submit administrative paperwork such as travel expenses, mileage expenses,
overtime schedules and other forms as required in a timely fashion
Perform other duties as assigned by the National Service Business Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,
and/or ability required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in Electronics Technology (or current enrollment in such a program) or
a related discipline is required. Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and
schematics is a required. Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly instructions is
required. Any experience with the medical imaging industry is a plus but not required.
Computer skills including Word, Excel and others that are pertinent to the position are
Required. PC/Laptop Skills Are Required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Individual must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short
correspondence, and memos. Ability to write short correspondence, send and receive
communications via e-mail. Must be able to effectively communicate with internal staff and
others in person, via phone or e-mail. Excellent inter-personal skills and written/oral skills are
required.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math skills are required including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all common units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, trigonometry and geometry. Must be able to convert these skills for use on the computer and/or for resolution of technical issues with our imaging systems. REASONING ABILITY: Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to generate work schedules to effectively complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet schedules. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Heavy physical demands for this position with 90% standing and bending is required. Some lifting of moderate weight components is required. Use of proper body mechanics and safety equipment may lessen the possibility of injury. Proper use of ergonomic computer accessories may lessen hand and wrist problems related to computer use. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in this work area is generally minimal.
