Principal Analyst, Sales Operations

Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, Commercial Analytics & Performance Management Optimization, the Principal Analyst, Sales Operations will serve as a central resource, partnering with various stakeholders to develop insights that will guide leadership, strategy, and sales team decisions and behaviors. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing sales processes, driving sales performance, and providing strategic insights to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales organization. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.


Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to sales leadership.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics to track performance against targets.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.

Sales Process Optimization:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance the efficiency of sales operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and ensure smooth execution.
  • Design and implement sales process automation tools to streamline workflows.

Sales Forecasting and Planning:

  • Lead the development of sales forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals.
  • Support the annual sales planning process, including quota setting and territory management.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on forecast data and market analysis.

Performance Management:

  • Evaluate sales team performance and productivity, identifying areas for development and training.
  • Develop and implement performance tracking systems to monitor individual and team progress.
  • Work with sales leaders to set performance goals and develop strategies to achieve them.

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Partner with senior leadership to support strategic projects and initiatives that drive business growth.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic planning.
  • Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership in a clear and compelling manner

Core Qualifications to Drive Impact

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales operations, business analysis, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of delivering insights and driving improvements in a sales environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales enablement tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of sales processes and strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with SAP databases and SAP Analysis for Office.
  • Experience with Power BI preferred.
  • Experience working as a global team member on multi-functional program teams.
  • Prior experience working with IVD products or Medical Devices preferred.
