Principal Network Engineer

Reports to: Director of Networking

Position Overview: The Global Network Solutions Architect is a hands-on technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced network infrastructure across a global enterprise. This role requires deep expertise in networking, including LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Data Center Networking, with the ability to make strategic decisions and provide leadership in technology deployment and management. The ideal candidate will have significant global experience, having worked with large organizations that have multiple data centers and over 4,000 employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently design and implement global IT infrastructure solutions using diverse technologies to deliver new capabilities.
• Lead and mentor technical teams on networking strategies, configurations, and best practices.
• Manage all aspects of networking, including LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Data Center Networking.
• Provide architectural frameworks for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement.
• Advise and report to leadership on network solutions, compiling necessary information for decision-making.
• Ensure high-quality deliverables that meet user and process requirements.
• Collaborate with developers and engineers to develop roadmaps for applications and ensure effective integration with IT infrastructure.
• Monitor technological advancements to continuously improve and align solutions with industry standards and emerging business needs.
• Analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Manage and execute complex projects related to the deployment or upgrade of network technologies.
• Travel to global locations as needed to support regional initiatives.

Education:

• Required: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: Master's degree.

Experience:

• 10+ years of IT architecture, production support, or related systems experience.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise-class networks.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams and manage complex projects.
• Experience working in large global enterprises with multiple data centers.
• Advanced project management skills with a focus on feasibility, scheduling, and budget management.

Technical Requirements:

• Expertise in Cisco networking technologies and experience with other platforms such as Palo Alto.
• Advanced knowledge of firewall and load balancing concepts, platforms, and integration practices.
• Experience with enterprise network management and information security platforms.
• Proficiency in designing, building, and integrating hybrid cloud platforms.
• Highly advanced scripting skills (Shell scripting, Python, Power BI, PL/SQL, Perl).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with workload virtualization and application containerization.
• Knowledge of database and data platform management.
• Familiarity with application performance monitoring and enterprise cloud technologies.
