Role Description

As a Principal Technical Program Manager based in Salt Lake City, Dallas or Austin - you will lead complex programs across multiple engineering, product, and cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Marketing, Client Success, OPS) at Care. You will shape the program's overall strategy, guide technical decisions, and lead execution through all phases, from planning to delivery. Your technical background and strong advocacy for user experience will help you continuously deliver value to customers. You will negotiate with stakeholders, make trade-offs, track progress, manage budgets, and communicate effectively.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of complex cross-functional programs across multiple projects, ensuring successful implementation and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Utilize Agile principles to streamline processes, enhance project velocity, and manage program-level functions, risk mitigation, dependency detection, and resource planning & execution.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including tracking project performance and milestones using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal management aspects of the project to ensure proper allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Foster collaboration across functional teams to drive synergy and efficiently resolve issues.
  • Implement data-driven strategies using analytics and technology to enhance decision-making and optimize program outcomes.
  • Engage with senior management and other stakeholders to report on project status and propose adjustments as necessary to meet business objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement within the project lifecycle, encouraging innovation and adopting industry best practices.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing critical & high-value Strategic Initiatives for Large companies.
  • Agile Practitioner, with substantial expertise in applying Agile practices to manage complex programs for engineering organizations.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of managing critical issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with financial management within a project context, including budgeting, cost estimation, and fiscal analysis.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and techniques.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to a wide range of audiences ( Technical & Non-Technical)
  • Experience building a team for Technical Program management and bringing in organization-wide adaptation to best processes that increase engineering productivity and business agility
  • Understanding Microservices Architecture, REST or GraphQL, Java, SpringBoot, Node.js, Go

Salary Range: 175,000 to 225,000.

The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Care.com provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
