Title: Senior Associate/ Director/Senior Director, Recurring Revenue & Venture Lending (Software & Healthcare IT)


Location: San Diego, CA or Bay Area (Remote Flexibility Available)


Oxford's Recurring Revenue and Venture Lending group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to play a key role in evaluating, structuring, and managing debt investments in the rapidly growing Software and Healthcare IT sectors. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise in recurring revenue and software underwriting and contribute to the success of a dynamic and collaborative team. You will work closely with management teams, private equity sponsors, venture capital groups, advisory firms, fellow team members, and Oxford's executive team. While this is first and foremost an underwriting role and experience originating deals is not required, there is an incredible opportunity to grow at the firm and an interest and ability to originate deals in the future will be viewed positively.


Responsibilities include:

  • Due Diligence & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on new investment opportunities, including in-depth analysis of the product, business plans, financial statements, projections, market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Underwriting & Deal Execution: Lead underwriting efforts for new platform investments, add-on facilities, and loan modifications. Develop compelling written proposals and present them to Oxford's executive team.
  • Portfolio Management: Prepare insightful monthly portfolio analysis reports and quarterly client updates for the recurring revenue loan portfolio, contributing to informed decision-making at the executive and board levels.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Corporate Finance, Marketing, and other teams on ad hoc projects to drive overall business success.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, including management teams, private equity sponsors, venture capital groups, and lending partners. (Occasional travel may be required)


Desired Skills & Experience

The candidates will present themselves confidently, learn quickly, and work independently. They possess each of the following requisite skills and experience:


Education & Experience:

o  Undergraduate degree and/or MBA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from a top-ranked university

o  4-8+ years of relevant experience in lending, private credit, private equity investment banking, or a similar role with a focus on Software and/or Healthcare IT investments

Recurring Revenue Underwriting Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in the following:

o  Revenue and customer retention analysis (required)

o  Sales efficiency analysis (LTV/CAC) (required)

o  Total addressable market (TAM) analysis

o  Enterprise valuation methodologies (Sum of the Parts, DCF, Public and Private comparables analysis)

Technical Skills:

o  Advanced MS Excel and financial modeling capabilities (required)

o  Advanced MS Office capabilities (required)

o  Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus

Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong presentation skills, and the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders

Other:

o  Self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively

o  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

o  Passion for Software, Healthcare IT, and Venture investing

Note: Title (Senior Associate/ Director/Senior Director) and compensation will be commensurate with experience. Immediate start is preferred but starting dates are flexible. 


For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Oxford Finance LLC includes a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $125,000 per year to $250,000 per year plus a performance based annual bonus.
