Job Description

McKenna Labs, a manufacturer of personal care products, is currently seeking a Process Engineer who is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing both systems and procedures used in the manufacturing facility. Emphasis on enhancement of efficiency, reduction of costs, and improve product quality. The role provides guidance and acts as a subject matter expert to ensure product meets all elements of fit, form, and function as intended in a scalable manner from concept to launch. Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, testing and monitoring equipment, updating current system processes, and ensuring product compliance.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing in conjunction with the Research and Development.
  • Designing, configuring, and optimizing manufacturing processes from inception to launch.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Quality leaders to identify potential areas of process and product variability, address root causes and implement improvements to ensure the flow of quality products through the supply chain.
  • Conduct risk assessments as required to identify potential hazards and ensure product quality is met.
  • Utilize data to assess the overall health and effectiveness of the quality processes / systems and identification of areas for process improvement that are aligned with department and organizational goals.
  • Implementing procedures to reduce inefficiencies, lower costs, and improve product quality.
  • Subject matter expert in the manufacturing process and supporting client development meetings.
  • Provide detailed process documentation and operating instructions.
  • Support reporting of Key Performance Indicators that will be presented to leadership.
  • Ensure clear communication between different teams for successful execution of processes during manufacturing.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing performance, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.
  • Conduct or review studies for the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and processes.

Requirements

To fulfill requirements of job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a high level.   • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, analytical chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Regulatory Guidance Documents as they relate to quality release of personal care and OTC products is required.
  • Strong ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment while coaching, developing, and motivating others.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills including the ability to devise and implement practical solutions to resolve complex issues through improved process, resource management, or new technology.
  • Excellent cross-functional team skills to accomplish cross-functional initiatives / goals with leaders from manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, product compliance, and warehouse.
  • Fluency in English. Bilingual in technical Spanish is a strong differentiator.
  • Must be able to work in person onsite.

The salary range for this role is $75,000 – $95,000 annually. Compensation is commensurate with level of knowledge, education, skills, and experience applicable to the position.
