The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure the efficient production of pharmaceutical products. This role requires a thorough understanding of process engineering principles, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring manufacturing operations meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Design and Development:
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for new and existing pharmaceutical products
- Conduct process simulations and feasibility studies to optimize production efficiency and product quality
- Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality
- Process Optimization:
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
- Conduct root cause analysis of process deviations and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues
- Validation and Compliance:
- Develop and execute process validation protocols in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all process-related activities
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage process engineering projects from conception through implementation
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans to ensure successful project completion
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to procure necessary equipment and services
- Technical Support and Training:
- Provide technical support and training to manufacturing staff on new and existing processes
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in process engineering and pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with process design, development, and optimization in a GMP-regulated environment
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software (e.g., Aspen Plus, MATLAB)
- Strong understanding of process control principles and methodologies
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
