Job Title: Process Engineer or Technologist Dry BU

Location: Fremont, CA

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop processes for new hardware to improve process capability and productivity of equipment.
• Demonstrate process results on customer wafers/panels that utilize internal applications laboratory tools and enable sale of equipment.
• Drive process qualifications of equipment being shipped to customers.
• Apply principles of engineering, thermal or fluid sciences, mathematics, or statistics to optimize processes as per customer requirements.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute R & D tests of process hardware (electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment), with clear formal documentation of results.
• Participate in the design, planning, setup, and configuration of testbeds with integrated electronics modules, coating systems, and high vacuum equipment.
• Support the planning efforts for and execution of system-level hardware and process qualification activities, including functional and process testing and the development of associated test specifications and plans.
• Write test protocols and perform tests to fully characterize new equipment or processes utilizing OE methodology or other statistically sound methods, then write completion reports. Familiarity with JMP statistical analysis tool will be an added advantage.
• Train, develop, and/or provide work direction to operators, technicians, and junior-level engineers.
• Apply statistical methods to the design of experiments.
• Create test plans for DOEs and process developments.
• Identify, analyze, and provide solutions and alternate approaches to complex problems, using independent creativity and judgment.
• Work with internal teams of hardware, product management, software, and manufacturing to meet company goals.
• Work with end customers towards improving the performance of equipment.

Qualifications:

• Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3-10+ years of relevant process engineering experience in the semiconductor or semiconductor equipment industry.
• Working understanding of quality statistical models and metrics (confidence/reliability intervals, DOE, regression/trending, SPC, and acceptance plans).
• Strong Semiconductor or Packaging device knowledge to apply and characterize processes for front-end or backend semiconductor devices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
• Experience with developing solutions based on project needs.
• Ability to function well in a diverse, team-focused, fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
• Ability to travel up to 20% (local or international travel)

Compensation

• The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000 per year; higher compensation may be available depending on advanced skills and/or specific experience.
