Position Overview
We are seeking a Facility/Process Engineer to perform process and mechanical design for oil and gas onshore/offshore production, transmission, and distribution facilities. This role involves working on new installations, as well as upgrades and retrofits to existing terminals, platforms, and pipelines.

This role involves working on new installations, as well as upgrades and retrofits to existing terminals, platforms, and pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel: Occasionally travel out of town for short periods as required by projects and assignments.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits both onshore and offshore to gather existing data, survey available space, and support facility upgrades, modifications, or remediation.
- Walkdowns: Conduct walkdowns of oil and gas facilities, creating flow schematics by redlining or sketching from scratch, and coordinate with the drafting department to convert these into CAD drawings.
- Coordination: Effectively coordinate and interface with a wide range of personnel including engineers, designers, vendors, and management.
- Development and Review: Develop, design, and/or review P&IDs, mechanical flow sheets, safety flow diagrams, regulatory submittals (e.g., BSEE, USCG, and ABS), engineering studies, liquid and gas piping systems, and process design basis documentation.
- Engineering Studies: Perform and/or review process/mechanical engineering studies (e.g., de-bottlenecking, vent/relief, hydraulic analysis, pipe stress, API 14C compliance, firewater/deluge, material selection) and develop associated reports and spreadsheets.
- Sizing Calculations: Conduct sizing calculations for process and utility equipment, piping, in-line instruments, valves, and pipelines using available tools and process simulations; develop process flow diagrams with associated heat and material balance tables.
- Risk Analysis: Engage in process hazards analysis and risk identification.
- Design Projects: Participate in Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) and/or Detailed Engineering for Greenfield or Brownfield design projects.
- Systems Design: Design process systems (e.g., production separation, sour production sweetening, oil and gas dehydration, produced water treatment, export metering) and utility systems (e.g., fuel gas, chemical injection, instrument air, diesel, heat medium, cooling, drainage, power generation).
- Vendor Interface: Interface with vendors for the design of static and rotating equipment packages (e.g., pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, engines).
- Documentation: Prepare, modify, and/or review data sheets and technical specifications for process equipment, instruments, manual and actuated valves, piping systems, and specialty items.
- On-Site Support: Provide on-site construction, commissioning, startup, and operational assistance both onshore and offshore.
- Education: BS degree or higher in Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in engineering design and/or project management of oil and gas or industrial facilities.
- Experience performing walkdowns of Flow Schematics, Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Equipment Layouts, and Piping Plans.
- Familiarity with engineering and design requirements for oil and gas production facilities and equipment installations, including regulatory compliance (BSEE, USCG, ABS, DNV) and applicable codes and standards (CFR, API, ASME, NFPA).
- Proficiency in developing sizing calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and data sheets for oil and gas production facilities.
- Experience in performing and documenting engineering studies.
- Ability to travel to client sites onshore and offshore.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work overtime as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
