Overview

We have an immediate opening for Full-Time 1st Shift Process Improvement Engineer at our manufacturing and distribution facility in the Forks of the River Industrial Park. This is a great entry level Engineering opportunity. The right candidate will enjoy a fast paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities

The Process Improvement Engineer (PIE) will have overall responsibility of driving improvements at the making, packing, and picking operations, across organization, materials, processes, and equipment at Melaleuca facilities. PIE’s focus is identifying the largest operational opportunities, and effectively putting plans/teams in place. PIE’s will leverage extensively Operational Excellence tools to drive tangible SQOCE results. Reports directly to Site Operations Leader or Site Engineering Leader, dotted to Continuous Improvement Director. Partners directly with Operations Department Leaders, with Engineering Leaders, and with Maintenance group. Partners indirectly with Finance (cost accounting), Operations Analytics, Technical Services, Quality, and R&D

Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify critical opportunities within assigned scope of work
  • Manage improvement project and activities, from conception through conclusion
  • Align with organization the objectives and resources needed to drive the improvement plan
  • Establish specific success criteria, timelines, actions, and metrics for the improvement plan
  • Lead cross functional teams to implement solutions using Problem Solving techniques
  • Develop necessary training to increase capability/skills in each operational team
  • Track and Measure results from projects
  • Implement Standard Work Processes to sustain the results
  • Work with other facilities worldwide to share and reapply ideas and increase technical efficiency


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience
  • Understanding of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma principles (visual management, standard work, etc.) is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively with others on a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong desire to learn. Learn and adapts to new situations quickly
  • Problem solving skills
  • Goal Oriented/strong work ethic
  • Hands-on troubleshooting aptitude
  • Self-motivation and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Solid organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels within organization.
  • Dependability with exceptional attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow established operational procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, etc.).
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment on a prolonged basis while maintaining safety and quality.
