Procurement Category Manager III – Contract


KPMG Assignment Select is geared toward independent professionals interested in temporary or project-based work. Our team is comprised of highly trained third-party professional individuals who are in the right place, at the right time, with the right skillset.


KPMG is working through its partnership with Magnit and is currently seeking a remote contractor.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct the contracting process for software and SaaS solutions across different business units and functions; review, analyze, and negotiate software and SaaS contracts, including licensing agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), and data protection agreements
  • Work closely with various internal stakeholders, such as IT, legal, finance, and procurement teams, to ensure alignment between business requirements and contractual obligations; this collaboration ensures that the negotiated contracts meet the needs of the organization while adhering to legal and financial considerations
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with software and SaaS suppliers; conduct regular supplier performance reviews, address any issues or concerns, and facilitate contract renewals or terminations, as necessary
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the software and SaaS space; conduct market research and benchmarking exercises to identify innovative solutions, assess vendor capabilities, and drive informed decision-making during the negotiation process
  • Continuously identify and develop a pipeline of software and SaaS sourcing opportunities; explore potential savings initiatives, evaluating new vendors, and seeking opportunities for consolidation or optimization of software licenses and subscriptions
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to support the successful implementation and adoption of software and SaaS solutions; provide training, documentation, and change management support to ensure smooth integration and user acceptance
  • Monitor and track software and SaaS spend, savings achieved through negotiations, and contract compliance
  • Generate reports and insights to inform decision-making, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations; actively seek opportunities to enhance the software and SaaS sourcing process, policies, and tools; identifying areas for improvement, implementing process efficiencies, and leveraging technology solutions to streamline the contracting process


Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years proven experience in negotiating software and SaaS contracts, preferably in a technology-focused organization
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required; master’s degree from an accredited college/university is preferred
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models, SaaS pricing structures, and contract terms and conditions
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to software and SaaS contracts, such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and influencing skills are essential to navigate a complex management and organizational structure with a high level of ambiguity
  • Ability to work effectively with suppliers, project team members, project sponsors, functional leads, and senior management
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills are required; able to handle multiple projects, RFXs, and contract negotiations simultaneously; demonstrated skills in analysis, finance, problem-solving, organization, and project management

Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including market data, ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, technology), and specific location, for example. Additionally, applicants may be required to apply and become employed by a service provider utilized by KPMG, and final pay rate(s) and/or eligibility for additional benefits may be determined by such provider.


$60 - $75 hourly (USD)
