Your new role…

We are CNN. THE WORLD'S MOST ESSENTIAL AND ENGAGING SOURCE OF DIGITAL NEWS. We are in the midst of rapid transformation and need our next generation of innovators, makers, and dreamers who will lead and drive our growth. We aim to make the world a better, more connected place.

CNN’s Digital Video team creates custom video content for all CNN platforms and select social platforms. We write, produce, shoot and edit digital videos and collaborate across the organization to cover breaking news and other important topics such as international conflicts, climate change, health, business and more.

The Producer II is responsible for pitching story ideas, assigning projects and overseeing our weekend news producers as they execute daily and breaking news videos. The ideal candidate is a video-first storyteller with a passion for breaking news who is confident operating independently and leading others in a fast-paced news environment.

Your Role Accountabilities…

• Pitching video story ideas across international and domestic news
• Identifying daily news and trending video moments our audience wants to watch
• Using performance data and audience insights to inform assignments
• Researching, writing and gathering elements for scripts
• Editing short news videos for our core and social platforms
• Giving feedback on others’ scripts and video edits
• Publishing videos using our content management system and social platforms
• Planning ahead for news events or other network priorities
• Communicating and collaborating with key partners across CNN
  
  

Qualifications & Experience…

• 5+ years of working at a major media outlet, or equivalent experience
• A track record of excellent news judgment and a love for breaking news
• Experience creating digital video and/or supervising its creation
  
  

Experience and/or interest of international news

A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills

• Familiarity with social media platforms and vertical video
• Knowledge of post-production software such as Adobe Premiere or similar
• Flexibility to multitask and adapt to on-going changes in the media industry
• Desire to grow as a leader and people manager
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, overnights and extended hours as the news cycle and deadlines require.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $82,768.00 - $153,712.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
