Job Description

  • Formulates and maintains manufacturing control objectives consistent with company goals and objectives. Oversees inspection activities throughout the production processes. Directs employees engaged in testing and inspection activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products. Coordinates production support activities, such as plant planning and purchasing, and quality control to ensure the optimum production with operational equipment effectiveness.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to determine root causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems, and institute corrective actions as required.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. Drive daily production results by systemically managing the critical daily actions required to meet operation requirements to encourage continuous improvement in the manufacturing processes.
  • Supervise and develop production leader and maintenance supervisor to ensure that the organization is aligned to meet daily production requirements. Review, implement and update company records i.e. training matrices, performance reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Be a strategic thinker to solve reoccurring problems with sustainable long-term solutions. Design and implement plans to continuously improve safety, quality, supply, productivity, and manufacturing cost. Coordinate the hiring and training of direct employees, including headcount planning and performance management. Be an integral team member of groups working on new product and machine introduction.
  • Communicate with direct reports to establish production and quality control standards, implement cost controls, and to obtain or generate reports regarding types, quantities, specifications, and supply dates of products ordered. Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities in keeping with effective operations and manufacturing cost factors. Coordinates revision of production schedules with site planning and priorities as result of equipment breakdown or operating problems.
  • Consults with plant manager relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and communicate goals and objectives to direct reports employee engagement. Coordinate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift to the maintenance department and assist in planning maintenance activities between production operators and maintenance technicians.
  • Assist in developing a planned preventative maintenance schedule and ensure full preventative maintenance schedules are completed on schedule with the maintenance department.
  • Schedule both internal and external work to minimize planned down time and reducing unplanned downtime while reducing overtime.
  • Ensure that the production department operates in accordance with all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of employees and visitors.
  • Works with Plant Manager to set department Objectives/KPIs and review and assess overall effectiveness of production department.
  • Assist in the evaluation and development of the annual production budget with forecasts and all Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects as well as ensuring compliance with corporate goals and objectives. Manage the production budget monthly including successful completion of CAPEX projects and coordinates the planning and execution of all CAPEX projects with Plant Manage, Project Manager, and Maintenance Manager.
  • Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operations to optimize results and improve quality of supply in line with Company and Customer requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Must be a well-educated manufacturing leader who can push forward the necessary strategies and programs to increase quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Experience must have included a proven track record in manufacturing.
