Production scheduler/coordinator uses their knowledge of the production process and reports to create daily production schedules and makes sure that roasting and packaging schedules are aligned. There are two production/scheduler roles: one for the AM (4am-12pm) and one for the PM (12-8pm), to support smooth handover between shifts. There is currently an opening for the PM shift.

Production Scheduler/Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Create schedules for DTC and Retail production (AM) – verify their coffee demand meets minimum roast quantity.
  • Create schedules for roasting and green (PM) – adjust to optimize roast quantities and schedule, and adjust packaging quantities where needed
  • Monitor green coffee silo levels and optimize green unloading schedules using green unloading rules (PM)
  • Align roasting and packaging schedule and keep Work orders and Gantt charts up to date
  • Communicate schedules to production supervisors.
  • Monitor and report aged work orders and send them to production supervisors to end.
  • Review and coordinate consumption of rework (roasted and packaged)
  • Monitor roasted coffee in WIP location and adjust roasting or packaging orders as required.
  • Review work orders for correct material consumption.
  • Host daily check-in meetings with planning, production, roasting and maintenance
  • Provide quick responses to production issues.
  • Identify problems and suggest process improvements
