Primary Objectives

  • Ensure the manufacturing process remains smooth and efficient by organizing workflows and monitoring staff.

Essential Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned and changed as needed)

  • Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement within all aspects of the manufacturing process.
  • Oversee the leadership of the production team, and follow the production schedule.
  • Champion product quality, workmanship, methods, and processes to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with standards, company policies, safety rules, and housekeeping standards.
  • Inspire and encourage others through direct communications throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Coordinate, set up, and implement standard operating procedures for all production operations.
  • Make sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality.
  • Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first-pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
  • Working out the human and material resources needed.
  • Estimate costs and setting quality standards.
  • Ensure implementation of safety procedures.
  • Optimize resource utilization by implementing an effective production organization.
  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Reviewing the performance of subordinates.

Requirements

  • Heavy Industrial Manufacturing experience.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of LEAN standards and requirements.
  • Must have 5 or more years of experience and/or training in supervision or management.
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to do advanced addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and measurement using whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and provide clear, brief, and accurate guidance and instruction
  • Ability to communicate professionally, respectfully, and effectively, in a manner that promotes growth and goal-oriented achievement.
  • Must be able to work with difficult employee personalities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
