Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Cylinder Handler to join our team. This entry-level position involves handling, inspecting, and maintaining cylinders in accordance with established procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand tools and mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Load and unload trucks or pallets with cylinders for testing or with completed cylinders.
Perform initial visual inspections on cylinders and identify contents prior to removing labels.
Shot blast cylinders and move them to the next work area.
Re-qualify acetylene cylinders according to established procedures.
Repair and re-valve cylinders as necessary and according to established procedures.
Paint cylinders as necessary according to established procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in production, general labor, forklift operation, and packaging.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work with hand tools and mechanical equipment.
Previous knowledge of cylinders and industrial gases is preferred.
Mechanical aptitude required.
Safety-conscious with the ability to follow established safety procedures.
Must wear safety toe shoes.
