Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Technical Accounting Manager with public accounting and SEC reporting experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and report to the Director of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting.
Responsibilities
Transaction Evaluation: Lead and assist in evaluating the accounting treatment for significant transactions and research applicable GAAP disclosure requirements.
Contract Review: Identify technical accounting matters in contracts and prepare analysis and memorandums.
Monthly Consolidation: Perform and manage the monthly consolidation process.
Financial Reporting: Prepare financial information and disclosures for GAAP and SEC compliance.
Audit Support: Assist in the external audit process by providing relevant schedules and support.
Balance Sheet Analysis: Prepare balance sheet analysis, record journal entries, and reconcile related balance sheet items.
Data Accuracy: Review financial data for accuracy, identify issues, and support daily operations.
Discrepancy Resolution: Research and reconcile discrepancies according to accounting policies.
Project Support: Work closely with project teams to provide technical guidance.
SOX Compliance: Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance and key controls implementation.
Process Improvement: Implement operational accounting efficiencies through process improvements and control enhancements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide accounting guidance on contracts and new transactions, collaborating with FP&A, tax, legal, research, product, and operations teams.
Other Duties: Perform additional duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Active CPA licence
MBA or Master of Science in Accounting preferred
Experience
4-6 years of professional accounting experience in public accounting
Experience with Oracle or NetSuite preferred
Experience with publicly traded companies
Preferred experience with multi-location retail or consumer services companies
