The University of Southern California Gould School of Law invites candidates for a tenured faculty position to teach law courses for the academic year 2025-2026. USC Gould School of Law focuses on professional excellence, intellectual rigor, and a commitment to public service. The law school is a collegial environment, and our faculty comprises accomplished, nationally ranked thought leaders with a broad range of expertise.

Applicants must hold a J.D. degree or equivalent, or a Ph.D. from an accredited institution, and have demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching and scholarly achievements. An outstanding academic background and relevant legal experience are also expected. Scholars from all areas of interest are encouraged to apply.

Applications should include a curriculum vitae, publication list, statement of teaching and research interests, and three or more names of individuals familiar with the applicant’s work who could be contacted for letters of reference.

The annual base salary range for this position is $170,000 - $210,000 (Assistant Professor of Law; $200,000 -265,000 (Associate Professor of Law) and $230,000 - $400,000 (Professor of Law). When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
