A Project Engineer Intern is responsible for assisting from conception to completion of construction projects by organizing and controlling all elements of a project. A project engineer should have a firm grasp on both time and management skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management
Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors
Interact daily with clients both internal and external
Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and report regularly on the project status
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, performance standards and specifications
Required Knowledge, Experience & Competencies
Valid driver’s license.
OSHA 10
Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, or related field experience.
Must be able to navigate and access all areas of a job site in all types of weather.
Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
This position requires team collaboration and presence at in-person meetings and is best suited to a traditional work schedule. Occasional remote work is acceptable.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel (10-15%) to meetings and events, typically within a 150-mile radius of the office.
Travel to various job site locations as needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 75lbs. as needed.
Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to see well (naturally or with correction).
