PROJECT MANAGER

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our New Product Development team to create more legendary products.

Summary

Responsible for efficiently and effectively planning and overseeing projects from ideation through completion. This includes new product creation and launch, refinement of current and/or revived products, process improvement and new process development and any other project assigned to the engineering team. This role requires interaction with many layers of the organization inside and outside of this department. It is the PM’s role to understand and capture the nuances and variations of each project and how it will influence individual work, department goals and production capacities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following-

  • Lead project planning and tracking sessions
  • Effective use of PM software and its integration with Buck’s Inventory Control Software
  • Coordinating staff, internal and external resources with a spirit of cooperation
  • Manage project progress and adapt work as required
  • Ensuring projects meet deadlines within budget
  • Managing relationships with stakeholders including sales, marketing, purchasing, operations and others
  • Review final design plans and processes and forward for final approval
  • Review drawings for fabrication and purchasing of custom parts
  • Designing risk mitigation plans
  • Lead project justification workbook process for approval which identifies BOM, all product costs, manufacturing & purchasing plan, and production plan
  • Conducting project review and creating reports for executive staff
  • Optimizing and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary
  • Maintain effective communication with others who influence project success
  • Ensure and verify team members develop processes and procedures based on manufacturing capabilities with consideration of future growth, improved process capabilities, feasibility, and quality standards.
  • Pursue personal and professional development of skills needed to fulfill the PM duties
  • Provides technical assistance and advice to team members in developing new production, processes and procedures, prototypes, functional issues, scheduling, procurement, tooling, jigs, fixtures, measuring or any other area requiring a solution to meet project goals.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Great attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant technical degree.
  • Strong Solidworks skills
  • Experience designing products for retail consumer products.
  • Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change.
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative

Education/Experience

BSME or similar degree and 1-3 years’ designer experience, preferably with consumer products, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, with occasional exposure to moderate to severe noise levels.
