This position is responsible for managing the life cycle of various projects from initiation through execution and evaluation for the Principal Philanthropy department. Creates a collaborative team environment with all business partners to accomplish tasks with a high degree of quality. Provides guidance, resources, and support to the Philanthropy team and ensures project aligns with other ACS objectives and goals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manages various projects and provides overall coordination and support including project management, process management, information management, coordination, reporting, and planning for the Philanthropy department.
  • Facilitates and coordinates the work of multiple projects engaged in the establishment and implementation of philanthropy revenue driving initiatives.
  • Manages national relationships related to the Philanthropy department (St. Baldrick's Foundation, etc).
  • Collaboratively develops key relationships in each area of the enterprise that is aligned with the Philanthropy department.
  • Serves as a liaison between ACS departments to ensure effective communication and coordination among all departments involved in a project.
  • Provides timely project status updates, milestones, and charts, as well as risk assessments, analysis, and key deliverables to senior management.
  • Conducts project progress meetings with team managers, as needed. Identifies and works to remove barriers to successful completion of the overall project, with emphasis on preventing and/or resolving issues.
  • Monitors the project budget and schedule, as needed.
  • Facilitates project retrospective review meeting and documents lessons learned.
  • Prepares and provides status reports and presentations to staff and business leaders, as requested.
  • Prepares and completes all budget and forecast templates in Adaptive, as well as other financial documents on behalf of the Philanthropy department.
  • Provides support to all members of the Philanthropy team Effectively communicates processes which ensure ease of use of all department resources. Other duties, as assigned.

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of relevant business experience required.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects from beginning to end.
  • Strong knowledge of American Cancer Society programs, strategies, and organizational infrastructure a strong plus.

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional product teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
  • Ability to strategically and tactically organize and structure activities, paying particular attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple planned and unplanned projects, roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Tactical and strategic project management experience managing teams involved in multiple activities.
  • Knowledge of decision-making and problem-solving techniques to facilitate effective project and organizational leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp a general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies.
  • Good understanding of business and financial principles, demonstrated by experience managing budgets, schedules and resources.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited, remote supervision Demonstrated work ethic, integrity and professional conduct.
  • Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of the situation
  • Ability to communicate with volunteers, staff, and constituencies from multiple organizations, and to provide strategic guidance in a collaborative, consultative, and positive manner.
  • Ability to build consensus and to work through others in achieving desired results and objectives.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ACS organization structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Consistent ability to set and deliver against a work plan in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of full range of Microsoft Office Software.

The starting rate is $85,000 to $92,000. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
