Transportation & Installation Project Manager required for a Major Offshore Windfarm in the Northeast.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed project plans for the transportation and installation of offshore wind components. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution.
Logistics Management: Oversee the logistics of transporting wind turbine components from manufacturing sites to installation locations. Ensure timely and efficient transportation via ships, trucks, and other modes of transport.
Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation process of wind turbines, ensuring compliance with safety standards, technical specifications, and project timelines.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address issues related to weather, equipment failure, or other unforeseen events.
Budget and Cost Control: Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective use of resources. Report financial performance and make adjustments as needed.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Promote and enforce safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and team members. Provide updates on project progress, challenges, and milestones.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure all components are transported and installed to the highest standards. Conduct inspections and tests to verify the integrity and performance of installations.
Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including transportation logs, installation reports, and safety documentation. Prepare and present progress reports to management and clients.
Requirements:
7+ years of project management experience in the field of construction, engineering, finance and/or management with a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in project management.
4+ of those years MUST be directly in a Transportation and Installation Project Manager Role.
Bachelor Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
Other Education: Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology.
Experience in offshore wind construction, maritime construction, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
Good knowledge of marine, mechanical, electrical, and controls system.
Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) as required.
Proficient with interpreting technical drawings, documents & management reports.
Ability to lead and manage multiple work fronts.
Currently GWO certified or ability to obtain certification.
May be required to work in an offshore environment.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
