The Proofreader is responsible for reviewing proofs, making corrections to copy, product packages, print specs, and postal regulations. Verifies that client components are properly created, and guidelines and company quality standards are maintained. Examines copy for correctness of spelling, grammar, punctuation, format, spacing, capitalization, and font usage.

This position will be hybrid, with the person commuting in-office to Baltimore, MD, two days a week.

Your impact:

  • Proofreads and evaluates copy for spelling, grammar, capitalization, punctuation, spacing, format, and font usage
  • Makes necessary corrections and adjustments to comply with client guidelines and company quality standards
  • Uses dictionary, Gregg Reference Manual, and other references materials to verify correctness of copy
  • Able to use MS Word and Acrobat to relay revisions and mark corrections. corrections
  • Approves vendor proofs for printing
  • Maintains files of approved vendor proofs
  • Communicates with Account Managers and Creative Department
  • Works with Proofreading Team to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Adjusts quickly to changing priorities


Your Profile:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Additional education with courses in English and composition a plus
  • 3+ years of proofreading and printing industry experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under tight time constraints to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a hybrid workflow
