Description

Our client is seeking a permanent full-time Proofreader to support their firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role will be entrusted with the task of ensuring the quality and accuracy of various legal and marketing documents. This includes proofreading for grammatical errors, formatting inconsistencies, and adherence to house style, among other duties.

  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of all legal and marketing documentation.
  • Conduct comprehensive grammar, punctuation, and syntax checks on all assigned documents.
  • Consistently apply a sophisticated understanding of outlining to ensure logical allocation of content.
  • Proofread documents for adherence to house style and applicable templates.
  • Ensure drafting and formatting are consistent and logically display document content.
  • Identify and suggest alternatives for formatting inconsistencies that impact content clarity.
  • Conduct thorough checks of cross-references and defined terms in complex legal agreements.
  • Create, format, and update a wide range of complex documents, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information in accordance with policies.
  • Ensure technical skills are maintained and updated, including extensive knowledge of the firm's global document templates.
  • Support cross-function working with other functions such as Client Delivery Group, Marketing, and Business Development.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a proofreading role
  • Proficiency in proofreading, with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrable skills in Litera
  • Experience in document review
  • Familiarity with marketing material and corporate branding
  • Strong corporate communications skills
  • Knowledge of corporate legal and corporate paralegal processes
  • Experience in corporate marketing
  • Ability to maintain and improve brand consistency across all projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
