Company Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Global Operator in the North West (NW) region. Due to an internal promotion, the company is expanding its Proposal Division and seeking a highly skilled Proposal Manager to join the team.

Job Summary

The Proposal Manager will be responsible for developing cost estimates and technical proposals, crafting project schedules, and creating site layouts to support the commercial team in winning profitable business. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving competitiveness in offerings and collaborating with various teams to develop winning strategies. This role demands a deep understanding of the competitive environment and the ability to make business-critical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimates & Technical Proposals: Develop cost estimates and comprehensive technical proposals for screening, budgetary, and firm bids. Create project schedules and site layouts to support the commercial team’s objectives.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with commercial areas, Engineering Product Owners, and Functional Engineering teams to devise winning strategies. Understand the competitive environment and identify the most efficient options to meet customer needs. Collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
• Commercial Implications: Assess the commercial implications of each estimate and make decisions that enhance the competitiveness of proposals.
• Tool Development & Maintenance: Develop, own, and maintain costing tools and other project development tools. Ensure these tools are effective in estimating projects and developing proposals.
• Risk Management: Lead risk management efforts during the project development phase. Identify risks and opportunities and recommend mitigating strategies through documented risk management plans.
• Adherence to Standards: Ensure that all Engineering Standards, Procedures, and Work Instructions are consistently followed. Propose and implement improvements where necessary to facilitate efficient project development and execution.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience:
• Proven experience in proposal management, project development, project engineering, or engineered product development is preferred.
• Leadership Skills:
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to be assertive, persistent, and hold others accountable to their commitments.
• Interpersonal Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal and administrative skills with the capability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Communication Skills:
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead meetings and manage conversations with high-level management effectively.
