Position Objective

The Provider Educator is an administrative role responsible for developing and delivering educational programs and training materials to medical providers in our clinics. Your primary goal will be to enhance the knowledge and skills of our providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. The incumbent will report to the Senior Manager Provider Education (or a similar role) and will facilitate and provide detailed analysis, reporting, training, education, and support for providers and care teams across internal and external medical offices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive educational programs and training materials
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of training content
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and training requirements
  • Deliver engaging and practical training sessions
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
  • Provide individual coaching and mentoring to providers, offering guidance and support in implementing newly acquired knowledge and skills into their clinical practice
  • Stay abreast of advancements in medical education and instructional design methodologies
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among providers, promoting engagement in continuing education opportunities
  • Maintain up-to-date records of training activities
  • Collaborate with other departments to align training initiatives with organizational goals and ensure consistency in training practices across clinics
  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare policies, regulations, and reimbursement models, and incorporate relevant updates into training programs to ensure providers are equipped with the necessary knowledge to navigate the evolving healthcare landscape
  • Additional duties as assigned


Position Requirements/ Skills

  • Foreign Medical Graduate MD or RN License (Full or Limited License)
  • CPC or CRC certification (Or ability to get certified within 6 months)
  • 2 years of experience in a Risk Adjustment / Documentation preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and best practices
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with providers and other stakeholders
  • Proficient in using technology for training purposes, including virtual platforms and learning management systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel to different clinic locations as needed
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaboration

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned
  • Must be able to lift at least 15lbs at times
