Job Summary

The Quality Administrator (QA) will report directly to the Quality Manager while maintaining open communications with the Site and Deputy Site Manager’s. This position is located at Pituffik SB, Greenland.

The QA will develop, implement, control, and report the status and findings of quality assurance policy. The QA will interface regularly with the site manager and their staff to objectively confirm contract compliance and report findings of noncompliance. The QA will directly report to the Program Management Office (PMO) Quality Manager while remaining under the administrative control of the Deputy Site Manager.

Additionally, as the Communications Technical Advisor, they will provide expert guidance on communications (MILSATCOM and Networks) infrastructure, operations, and maintenance.

Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet the changing needs of contract performance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages the onsite quality program.
  • Well versed on Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements and responsibilities.
  • Able to read and understand technical documentation in support of changes and upgrades to the MILSATCOM and Network infrastructures[TP1] .
  • May be required to perform Augmentation Duty for MILSATCOM or Networks Work centers to meet operational requirements.
  • Complete understanding of satellite communications technology.
  • Follows the approved Quality Program Plan to assure the Government that all quality related contract requirements are being accomplished.
  • Reads, interprets and develops in-depth checklists from written contracts, supporting Air Force documentation, Technical Orders, and local regulations.
  • Conducts inspections of all work centers.
  • Manage the local Self Inspection Program.
  • Coordinate the System Outage Reports (SORs)
  • Manage the local Recommended Contract Change (RCC) and Request for Contract Clarification (RFC) Program.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Conducts follow up inspections on corrected nonconformities.
  • Identify, record, and report any problems relating to the service, process and quality system and cross-feed problem areas to the PMO Quality Manager for the formal cross-feed program.
  • Completes inspector duties as detailed in the approved Quality Program Plan.
  • Provides monthly written quality status reports to the PMO Quality Manager using inputs from all departments.
  • Acts as the controlled document manager who reviews, controls and tracks changes to documents for all work centers.
  • Acts as the Site Training Monitor, ensuring all Site Personnel are completing required training and training records are current.
  • Acts as the Base Technical Order Distribution Officer (TODO)
  • Provides backup coverage to the Project Coordinator Position.

Educational/Training Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in office administration with demonstrated skills in the use of automated office products such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must have an Active Security Clearance.

Required Skills/Experience

  • COMPTIA Security + certification required.
  • Preference is given for a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline.
  • Ten years’ experience with managing, administrating, and supervising a quality assurance program.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.

Supervision

  • The Quality Manager serves as the general supervisor for the Quality Administrator.

Work Environment

  • Expected to be able to lift 20 to 30 pound loads on occasion in a normal working office environment and may work extended hours on weekends and holidays. Travel throughout the Thule Defense area is routinely required. Rotation schedule will be 8 weeks on and 5 weeks off with possibility of adjustment. A 66 hour work week will be the norm.

Physical Demands

Walking, siting, typing, bending and lifting items as required within position requirements.

Clearance Requirements

  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
