Quality Assurance/Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor Opportunity:

TalentWell is hiring a QA/QC Laboratory Supervisor for a busy laboratory located in the Webster/League City, TX area. Previous experience working within a medical laboratory and handling quality management is required for this role.

  • Full-time, permanent role
  • Pay: $70,000-$75,000/year based on experience and tenure
  • Schedule: Monday- Friday Day Shift

Quality Assurance/Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor Essential Job Functions:

  • Organizes quality management activities for all laboratory sites.
  • Support daily QA/QC activities as required to meet the needs of all laboratory sites.
  • Coordinates the identification, monitoring, resolution, and follow-up of patient care and departmental projects, goals, and operational issues.
  • Identifies appropriate internal controls for the department to facilitate compliance; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
  • Oversees and manages document control process for departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with annual review requirements.
  • Participates in the monitoring, reporting, and improvement activities related to clinical guidelines, healthcare quality/safety initiatives, accreditation, and regulatory requirements, in collaboration with clinical staff and leadership.
  • Provides guidance in the analysis of departmental activities related to HIPAA compliance and other compliance-related matters.
  • Monitors and advises on the performance of the quality management system, and produces data and reports on performance, measuring against set indicators.
  • Acts as a liaison with management and staff throughout the department to ensure that the QA/QC systems are functioning properly.
  • Organizes, attends, and facilitates quality management meetings. Uses data to assist in making process changes.
  • Educates and assists the laboratory in developing appropriate ongoing quality management/monitoring programs.
  • Ensures compliance of areas of responsibility with accrediting agency requirements. Acts as coordinator for CAP accreditation inspections.
  • Assists in the development, interpretation, and implementation of departmental policies including lab safety procedures.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
  • Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to the management of developmental needs that contribute to the enhancement of patient care.
  • Performs test procedures according to their standard operating protocols (SOPs). Assists with the completion, verification ,and reporting of tests in a timely manner.
  • Assists with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for the training and supervision of laboratory personnel.
  • Superuser of the Laboratory Information System (Lab Daq)
  • Assists Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Director with day-to-day operations at all laboratory sites.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.


Quality Assurance/Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor Supervisor Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent related field of science
  • 10 years minimum laboratory work experience
  • Knowledge of laboratory accreditation requirements and laboratory quality assurance principles
  • 3 years minimum of quality management experience
  • 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
