R&D Scientist - Synthetic Organic Chemistry

Position Overview:

Genvax Technologies seeks a full-time R&D Scientist to perform bench chemistry for research and development on multi-step synthesis of ionizable lipids. The R&D Scientist will need to be an experienced chemist, capable of working independently with minimal supervision. This is a unique opportunity to work in the early stages of a startup company and become an integral member of our team.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

• Synthesize ionizable lipids for RNA-based lipid nanoparticle (LNP) vaccines
• Perform deep dives into the literature on ionizable lipids and LNPs and stay current on literature in the space
• Design and synthesize novel ionizable lipids that can be patented for vaccines
• Collaborate with other Genvax team members in evaluating ionizable lipids in vitro and in vivo
• Conduct activities safely and in an environmentally responsible way
• Maintain a well-organized laboratory and laboratory notebook
• All other tasks as needed by the Company
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry
• Hands-on synthetic organic chemistry experience required
• Experience with the analytical instrumentation required for chemical synthesis
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to use electronic notebook or other data tracking software
• Basic computer skills
